THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT ORGANIZED THE FIRST REGIONAL WORKSHOP OF THE BALKAN CONSTITUTIONAL COURTS FORUM

The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo organized the first regional workshop with the officials and the communication professionals of the member courts of the Balkan Forum of the Constitutional Courts that was held with the support of the Council of Europe Office in Pristina, on 9 December 2025.

The workshop was organized on the topic: “Challenges and best practices for communicating the most important decisions of Constitutional Courts: A Comparative Analysis”, in which the participants were the Secretaries General, advisors and media officers of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, Constitutional Court of Albania, Constitutional Court of Türkiye, Constitutional Court of North Macedonia, Constitutional Court of Bulgaria and Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic that was invited as a guest court to the workshop.

During the presentations, the delegations of the Balkan constitutional courts had the opportunity to share and exchange their mutual experiences and best practices in communicating high-profile decisions of interest to the general public, on the relations between each constitutional court with the local media and civil society, the methods of disseminating information and case-law, as well as challenges in managing cases of misinterpretation of court decisions in the era of digital media.

The focus of the presentations and discussions among the workshop participants was also the issue of livestreaming of the court hearings, holding of regular media conferences on decisions issued in cases of particular interest to the public, ways of increasing transparency of the work of the constitutional courts, as well as the need for training of the media representatives in the field of the constitutional justice.

The Balkan Forum of the Constitutional Courts brings together the Constitutional Courts of Kosovo, Albania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Türkiye, with the aim of promoting and strengthening professional cooperation between these courts.
